We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Design Manager to join our growing Auckland, New Zealand construction team. As Senior Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing all design activities across multiple construction projects, ensuring that all design work is completed in accordance with project specifications, contracts, and applicable regulations. You will oversee a team of designer managers and collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Responsibilities: Manage and oversee all design activities across multiple construction projects Lead a team of designer managers and provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff Organise regular design manager meetings to provide professional development but also foster social engagement as a function. Be available to provide design management guidance to the wider business as required and liaise with Icons Group Technical Manager Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery Review project specifications and contracts to identify design requirements and constraints Develop and maintain project design programmes and budgets Monitor project progress and update senior management on key milestones and potential issues Identify and resolve design-related issues and escalate issues to senior management as needed and undertake design and quality audits Ensure that project design records and documents are accurate and up-to-date Provide regular updates to senior management on project design status, including potential risks and opportunities Stay up to date with latest design standards and innovations Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field 10 years of experience in design management in the construction industry Experience working on largescale construction project from $50m upwards Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge of construction project management tools and software Understanding of construction contracts and regulatory requiremen.
