The Transactional Banking platform is the heart of the bank providing all the online/real-time transactional services. Within our platform we have several squads maintaining and supporting our Core Banking services About us: You'll be part of a team on the forefront of working to deliver and support a secure, functional, and performant ecosystem to our customers. About the role: As a Senior Software Engineer, (COBOL) you will be part of the team supporting our legacy systems and will have the opportunity to go with us on our transformational journey. Being part of the Engineering Practice at ASB we encourage our teams to work autonomously in an agile way while actively growing their skills and expertise to continuously improve outcomes for our customers. You'll have the opportunity to get hands-on with some interesting and complex pieces of work on an enterprise scale, all while being part of a smaller squad that makes their own decisions about how to work through prioritisation - so your voice will be heard, and your opinions valued.

We advocate for T-Shaped teams which will take you through all facets of engineering in any given day. We are looking for a mix of technical skills to support the following activities: Work with internal stakeholders to understand their needs Software design, development, and testing in accordance with compliance requirements Commitment to respond to customer requests and keeping the lights on for the existing solutions. Mentoring and uplifting Software Engineering practices About you: We'll value your proven initiative, problem solving abilities and leadership skills as we look for every engineer to lead from their position.

We are looking for an individual that will take ownership of our technical solutions, drive continuous change for the squad and customers to ensure we are delivering best possible outcomes. We advocate agile, fully cross functional teams which will take you through all facets of engineering in any given day.
