Senior Speech Language Therapist - Kaiwhakatikatika i te Reo Krero 1.0FTE position - Inpatients North Shore Hospital Fixed term for 12 months from February 2023 Salary scale step 10 - $109,000 - Please note that the NZ PSA pay equity settlement has been ratified and significant pay increases agreed which will begin on 31st January with back pay to start date. An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced SLT with advanced SLT knowledge and clinical skills to provide leadership and clinical expertise for the SLT service based at North Shore hospital, Te Whatu Ora Waitemat.

You would be joining a forward thinking, innovative team that works across both North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital, as well as participating in a weekend service. Our SLT team is small but our culture of openness and shared learning is strong. Diversity is valued here, and building strong connections to Te ao Mori and other cultures is supported by our team and organisation.

You would work in partnership with other senior SLTs, the SLT advanced clinician, and alongside the SLT Clinical Leader and SLT Professional Clinical Leader. Clinically, you would work alongside other SLTs and IDT colleagues to ensure best practice care. Essential skills: Lead daily caseload management Ability to participate in service development and quality project work Commitment to evidence based practice and promoting the translation of clinical research into practice Some experience with coaching and developing others.

Competence in instrumental swallowing assessment including cough reflex testing, videofluoroscopy (VFSS) and flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES level 3 or higher). Essential Qualifications: New Zealand professional qualification in Speech-Language Therapy, or NZSTA approval of overseas qualification NZSTA membership Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A minimum of 5 years clinical experience What are the perks?
