M te tnga | About the role This role contributes to the provision of high quality, effective personnel security services, products and advice. Specifically, the role holder is to provide direct support to the office of the Chief of Defence Intelligence in the management of special Intelligence policies, processes and systems. This includes sensitive compartmented information (SCI) related physical security and Information Technology (IT) systems.
A typical day would include: Developing and maintaining specialist, secure classified database(s) used for the management of SCI security clearance information Ensuring that SCI clearances for NZDF personnel are disseminated to the proper authorities when they travel or deploy overseas. Brief and train NZDF personnel on the security requirements and access of SCI information; similarly, De-brief personnel from SCI access when no longer required for position held, or on departure from the NZDF. Ng pkenga me ng wheako | Skills and Experience The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 10 years' experience operating within a secure environment and possess working knowledge of secure networks (and related equipment) as well as electronic access systems.
We require someone who has cut their teeth in the security field in any of the single services, NZSIS, GCSB, or DPM&C. Including exceptional communication and complete proficiency with the MS Office system, our ideal will possess the following: Sound understanding of security vetting system. Sound understanding of the SCI security measures and categories of SCI information.
Understanding of the operational (domestic and combatant) security and protection function, preferably in the New Zealand Public/State Sector context. Knowledge and sound understanding of the operation and appropriate deployment of classified physical security systems and equipment in a domestic NZ, international (including NATO) setting or other military security standard environment. Sound understanding of protective security requirements of classified security environments.
Thorough understanding of Security Risk Management methodology.
