Join our pioneering team and launch your career to new heights ABOUT SPACE SYSTEMS AT ROCKET LAB: Rocket Lab's Space Systems team is responsible for every satellite and satellite component made by Rocket Lab: from complete satellites destined for missions to the Moon and Mars, to the individual components and subsystems that make up a satellite like solar panels, flight software, reaction wheels and star trackers, separation systems, radios, and more.
Our Space Systems team is made up of engineers, technicians, and designers who design, create, and put together our own satellites for missions across the commercial, government, and defence sectors, or who build and assemble satellite hardware and software that supports other satellite missions. WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO: In this role you will be part of building the future of Rocket Labs space operations software with your strong DevOps experience. With your good interpersonal skills, you will be the work closely with Space Operations Software engineers in an agile environment to gather requirements and implement build automation for our space operation software products.
This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role to build and maintain a reliable backbone for software that is central to our daily on-orbit operations of our Photon spacecraft. You will be a strong proponent of containerized builds, container orchestration and infrastructure automation using modern tools. You will be a self-starter who enjoys working with a range of engineers in the company to deliver results.
Your responsibilities will include building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating provisioning by practicing Infrastructure as Code and closing the loop with observability. This role could be based at Long Beach, CA, USA, or Auckland, New Zealand. YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS: Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent years work experience Minimum of 5 years professional experience in DevOps Team player with a positive attitude Excellent problem-solving skills Strong networking, database and OS fundamentals Experience.
