Suitable for beginning teachers Aorere College is looking to appoint a teacher that is interested in Pathway Development to work in our GOAL programme, where students attend school and tertiary courses concurrently. The successful candidate needs to have the following attributes: Flexibility Organised Solution Focused Enjoys working with young people who are interested in a vocational pathway Previous experience in industry training or careers advising would be an advantage. A registered teacher is preferred, however applicants with a LAT would be considered for the right person.
Aorere College is a large multicultural school based in South Auckland. Applicants should have the belief in the ability of young people, a commitment to biculturalism, and embrace a student centred philosophy of teaching. You will be expected to demonstrate culturally responsive practice and participate in the extra curricula life of school.
The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $51,358 to $90,000 depending on the applicant's qualifications and experience. Individuals' actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once the role is confirmed.
