Do you want to make a difference to New Zealand's tamariki, rangatahi, whnau and communities? We have an opportunity for a proactive, super organised and fast-moving Team Administrator to join our Community Placements team at Oranga Tamariki. M te tnga | About the role With your previous administration or coordination experience - ideally in a fast-paced, operational environment - you will use your sharp attention to detail, ability to prioritise and excellent communication skills to provide our team with seamless administrative support. Our team partner with multiple stakeholders from other government agencies, whanau and community members to determine and tailor appropriate community placements for tamariki entering the youth justice system.
You are integral part of our team, and your work will ensure that the processes that support the team are highly efficient, effective and well organised. Your role will cover all facets of coordination and administrative support. You can expect each day to be slightly different, based on the specific needs of the tamariki that we need to place and the number of tamariki that we need to accommodate.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) Providing assistance with financial plans, data collection and scheduling Liaising with vendors, casual staff, and other stakeholders Working with various cultural groups and people from different backgrounds Booking rooms, answering phones, and assisting on the reception desk Organising welcomes/whakatau for newcomers and whnau as and when required Dealing with critical scenarios in a calm, professional manner It would be extremely beneficial if you joined us with an existing understanding of the youth justice cycle our tamariki move through. This may have been built through your work in an agency that often partners with Oranga Tamariki or from your own personal experience. Ng pmanawatanga u | What you will bring Full clean New Zealand drivers licence is required Support the team with all aspects of Health and Safety Have a strong computer and IT knowledge Admin skills such as typing, reporting, responding to Site needs Cultural awareness and an understanding of Tikanga Mori principles Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi Strong time management Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to your audience Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Mori, and Pacific peoples' culture M mtou | About us Oranga Tamariki-Ministry for Children has a commitment to putting tamariki and rangatahi at the heart of what we do.
