We are seeking a Telecommunication Technician/ Rigger that is experienced and qualified for projects in New Zealand.

We have a position available in the Wellington region, working from our Porirua depot. Reporting to the Field Manager, you will be responsible for the upgrade and installation of mobile networks for our major customers. Working within the parameters of time and cost, you will provide technical rigging support, be innovative and able to generate solutions that produce results.

Building positive relationships with customers and clients, you will show commitment to quality work practices and ongoing quality assurance. You must be committed to actively following our Health and Safety protocols. About you: If you have an enthusiasm for the industry, are familiar with existing and emerging communication infrastructures / technologies and are inspired by the opportunity to join a dynamic and growing organisation.

Suitable applicants with the following skills will be considered: Minimum Level 4 NZQA Telecommunications or equivalent or alternatively relevant experience as a rigger within the telecommunications industry. Knowledgeable with reading and interpreting plans and construction drawings (Poles and Towers). Experience in the Installation of Microwave equipment of various types of MW equipment.

Experience in Fibre Optics installation on Pole and Tower and capable of doing Trouble shooting and testing. Current Certificate in Rigging (Intermediate or Advanced Rigger preferred). Current Working at Heights Certificate preferred although Downer NZ will put you through the course if your certificate has expired.

Competency based qualification and experience with Elevated Work Platforms (EWP). Valid Full Drivers Licence. Ability to use fault finding equipment and competent in fault restoration.
