Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District Location: Wellington Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital Service: Radiology and Perinatal Ultrasound Unit (Women's Health) Contract: Permanent, Full-time Salary: $120,285 - $137,710 per annum, dependant on experience Krero m te tranga - About the role This vacancy is for an experienced Sonographer who is looking to taking up a new challenge as the Unit Charge of Ultrasound working in both the Radiology and Perinatal Ultrasound Unit (Women's Health). The successful candidate will become an important part of the management team and lead the "day to day" management as well as help long term service planning. The ultrasound team within Capital and Coast Te Whatu Ora prides itself on achieving high quality diagnostic imaging.
We are a training service for trainee Sonographers and have a dedicated clinical tutor position within the department. The multidisciplinary team in Women's Health Service is dedicated to ensuring excellence in obstetric and gynaecological care. Service provides an integrated mix of inpatient/outpatient/day patient and domiciliary services.
Services are delivered in Wellington and Kenepuru hospitals, Kapiti Health Centre, out-reach clinics and domiciliary midwifery services. A dedicated Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Department sits within Women's' health. The Radiology service is multi-disciplinary, employing Radiologists, Nurses, Administration Support Staff and Medical Imaging Technologists and is a training institution for Radiology Registrar's, MITs and Sonographers.
The services support tertiary Radiology imaging for the lower North Island and upper south island capturing a population of over one million people. The majority of Ultrasonographers are rostered across both areas and enjoy working closely with both teams. In both areas we undertake regular training/upskilling in subspecialist areas (e.
g. MFM, Vascular, MSK). The Unit Charge role is a full-time position (both clinical and administration) and we are open to discussion on exact hour's for the right candidate.
M t mtou rp - About our team The Unit Charge is an essential part of both the Radiology Management and Women's Health team and wider teams within the hospital and district. The successful candidate will form close relationships with clinicians/surgeons from Radiology, Cardiology, Vascular and Women's Health teams while working day to day with the wider Radiology and Women's Health departments.
