$38-42 AUD per hour Multiple vacancies Immediate Start Lynx Recruitment are partnered with a large engineering firm based in Narangba We are on the hunt for multiple welder / fabricators for a workshop setting in Narangba You will be constructing and repairing metal products and structures Both permanent, and contract roles are available. Full rights to work in NZ or Australia required Rates 38-42 AUD per hour overtime rates (1-2 hours per day available) Qualifications / Experience: Minimum Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication, or Trade Certificate in this field 1 -2 years industry experience Day to day in the role: Comply to company polices & procedures, applicable legislative requirements and safety processes Working in workshops, production or machinery areas or sites that can be noisy, hot and dusty. Most of the day may be spent standing and often need to bend, crouch or climb.
Examine detailed drawings or specifications to find out job, material and equipment requirements Complete products by washing, cleaning, chiseling, grinding, filing or bathing them in acidic solutions Cut, mould, twist, shape, punch and hammer metal to assemble parts and enable fitting edges together Join metal sections and structures together using welding, bolting or riveting methods Assemble, identify faults in and repair boilers, tanks, pressure vessels and vats. Select the appropriate materials, methods, equipment and tools necessary to complete the job Understand weld ability of QT steels, stainless steels, duplex steels, wear plate and other exotic steels Ensure that work is performed as per JCPs, drawings, instructions and current schedule of works Set up and adjust metalworking machines and equipment Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools and welding equipment Check accuracy and quality of finished parts, You must have Attention to detail Basic math ability such as quantifying materials and running measurements Ability to read drawings Basic computer skills Be a team player and have a positive and self-motivated attitude Neat & tidy appearance and pleasant manner Physical strength & dexterity Have a strong regard for safety and quality Ability to self-manage and complete tasks without direct supervision Self-check work to ensure accuracy Be able to communicate with and work alongside other trades Provide the following basic trade tools at a minimum: 10m tape, 30m tape, 300mm steel ruler, chisels, ball pein hammer, mash hammer, 2 ft square, bevel square, slide combination square, scriber, centre punch, shifters (6", 10", 12"), allen keys (metric and imperial), basic screw driver set, set of tremmel points for marking circles, dividers, welding shield, oxy goggles, heavy duty tool box, spirit levels, clamps CV's to lynxrecruitment.co.
