Destination Services

Area Familiarisation

When completing your MTNZ needs assessment, as part of our destination services you will be asked if you want us to include area familiarisation in your MTNZ One File. It’s a great service that allows transferees to arrive educated & informed.

What’s included

Background Information on New Zealand

We want to help transferees flourish in their new home. Topics covered include the history & laws of the New Zealand, banking, shopping, media, transportation, medical facilities & personal safety.

Housing Area or Residence

When your housing area or residence has been selected, an orientation of the neighbourhood is conducted to identify nearby supermarkets, post offices & banks, health clinics & public transport stations.

Markets & Groceries

Transferees are advised about products essential for living in New Zealand. A breakdown of local markets may be included where cultural foodstuffs, imported vegetables, tropical fruits & other groceries are available.

Hospital & Medical

Transferees may need to visit an Accident & Emergency Department (A&E) in a hospital. Procedures are discussed & information given about the hospital & its facilities, so that they feel more secure to cope if an emergency happens.

Local Parks & Recreational Facilities

As locals, we will share information about places which many people will not find on their own. This can help transferees adapt to Kiwi culture more easily. We will recommend local New Zealand parks for children, family-friendly beach spots & share insider knowledge on the best places for buying products at reasonable prices.

The area familiarisation program, upon request, may cover a tour of cultural & historical areas.

 Short & Long-term Accommodation

Your MTNZ relocation concierge can facilitate, organise & co-ordinate your New Zealand accommodation needs & requirements. When completing your MTNZ needs assessment, you will be asked if you want us to include short or long-term accommodation services to your MTNZ One File.

Short Term Accomodation

Transferees are guided through a collaborative search for a suitable home in New Zealand. We co-ordinate with the agent or service you have chosen during the rental process. A transferee is given general area information about transport, recreation, education, maps, etc.

Long Term Accomodation

Utilizing the detailed destination needs-analysis, your relocation manger will source the best real estate agent for you. Every transferee is given an “area orientation tour” in conjunction with their new home search.

An orientation tour of the area is a valuable tool offering multiple applications as part of a relocation program. It can help familiarize the transferees with their new area & understand the differences between various locations & neighbourhoods in New Zealand.

School Assistance

The key to a successful relocation & adaptation to New Zealand is to have a preventative & thoughtful process that prioritises your children. Moving countries can be daunting & upsetting for children. At MTNZ, our relocation managers identify your children’s needs & ensure they are as organised & integrated as possible.

When completing your MTNZ needs assessment, you will be asked if you want us to include School Assistance in your MTNZ One File.

Relocation Concierges Provide…

  • Comprehensive verbal needs analysis including discussion of school types, educational options & priorities to devise a mutually agreed strategy for the school search.
  • Focus on pre-move queries like sporting interests & hobbies for your children.
  • Comprehensive research of schooling options following the employee’s specific requirements.
  • Contacting selected schools to organise & confirm appointments.
  • Preparing a detailed itinerary including addresses, map references, times & descriptions.
  • Discusses schooling options and comparisons.
  • Advise & assist in providing any or all documentation to satisfy the education system.
  • Assist with & confirm enrolment into the school system.

Settling in Services

Check out the options below that you can include into your move strategy. Relocation services are so popular that the New Zealand government has made it mandatory for all accredited migrant employers. Our settling services are customised to your needs & not universal for all applicants.

When completing your MTNZ needs assessment, you will be asked if you want us to include Settling-In Services to your MTNZ One File.
