Air Quality Scientist Environmental consulting role, providing air quality advice and analysis on projects across New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific Develop your career as a trusted advisor, working alongside our clients to lead projects Work with a passionate team of environmental experts to develop your technical, project delivery and client relationship management skills Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Develop your career providing expert air quality assessments and advice to support significant infrastructure, industrial and community projects. You will be part of a tight knit team of trusted advisors, scientists, and environmental specialists shaping environmental outcomes across a diverse variety of projects. In this role, you will: Bring your existing knowledge and technical expertise to the Beca Air Quality team Undertake air quality assessments to support a wide range of clients Undertake air quality dispersion modelling assessments Manage projects from their inception to completion Build great relationships with internal and external clients Uphold and promote the Beca key values of partnership, tenacity, enjoyment, and care As part of the Environmental & Sustainability Advisory practice, you will be part of a team of over 60 environmental scientists and sustainability advisors located throughout New Zealand.

Together, you will be working with a team who are committed and focused on shaping environmental and sustainability outcomes. Mu ake | About you This role will enable you to bring your passion for the environment, your background in air quality and environmental consulting skills to support our clients. You will enjoy working with a range of clients, both within Beca and externally, to understand their needs.

You will also enjoy applying your air quality and scientific rigour to providing robust advice, solutions, and technical assessments to improve environmental outcomes. This is a broad role where ideally your background will include: Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills Experience in a consultancy environment (preferably 5 experience) Experience in undertaking air quality assessments A good understanding of New Zealands air quality legislative and planning framework Experience with the use of atmospheric dispersion models such as AERMOD, CALPUFF,TAPM and WRF would be an advantage Ideally experience with GIS applications Proven ability in data analysis and interpretation Experience in developing air quality management plans Strong communication and writing skills A bachelor degrees or higher in engineering, a physical science discipline, or environmental science; and Being a Certified Air Quality Professional (CAQP), or having a similar professional body certification, would be an advantage.
