APHG is the largest provider of Pathology services in New Zealand, with laboratories throughout the country. Taranaki is a region on the west coast of New Zealands North Island.
Its known for its mountain (Mt Taranaki) and its temperate climate. The region has magnificent landscapes, offering many outdoor pursuits including hiking and surfing. About the role | M te tranga: Our Taranaki laboratory provides both public hospital and community anatomic pathology services, serving a population of approximately 125,000.
The Anatomical Pathology department processes over 14,000 surgical and 1000 Cytology cases each year. We are seeking an experienced Anatomic Pathologist to be the 3rd full time pathologist in our group. Competency in cut up and diagnosis of a broad range of tissue types is essential.
Special interest in dermatopathology and/or gastrointestinal pathology is desirable. Active participation in Multi Disciplinary Meetings is an expectation of this role. About you | He krero mu: You will need to hold the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia or a similar recognised postgraduate qualification; and be eligible for vocational registration as a Specialist Pathologist by the Medical Council of New Zealand.
