Anatomical Pathologist Permanent, Full-time Hastings, Hawkes Bay Awanui Group is seeking a full-time pathologist for our Hastings, Hawkes Bay Anatomical Pathology Department. Awanui Labs - Hawkes Bay is part of the Awanui Group (previously known as Asia Pacific Healthcare Group), the largest provider of Pathology services in New Zealand and have laboratories throughout the country. We have provided pathology services to doctors and patients in New Zealand since 1960.

Awanui Labs - Hawkes Bay Anatomical Pathology Department is located at Hawkes Bay Regional Hospital, in a new purpose- built histology laboratory, and provides both hospital and community anatomic pathology services to the greater Hawkes Bay region, serving a population of approximately 164,000. We are seeking an Anatomic Pathologist to be the 4th full-time Pathologist. You will work with three experienced Anatomic Pathologists, two of which are sub-specialty trained in dermatopathology and have access to state-of-the-art on-site diagnostic immunohistochemistry with highly competent histology technical staff and a full range of diagnostic molecular testing services.

While an experienced pathologists is preferred, highly competent and hardworking newly qualified consultants will be considered. Competency in general surgical pathology is essential. There is no autopsy pathology, cytopathology or after hours or weekend on-call duties.

The successful candidate will need to hold the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia or a recognised postgraduate qualification and be eligible for registration as a specialist pathologist by the Medical Council of New Zealand.
