A rare opportunity has become available at the busy Auckland Airport where we are looking for what we call a Service Centre Manager North Island to join the team! Our team is ready for your leadership and guidance to steer them to success! This is a full-time, permanent position where you will ultimately ensure our fleet is operating efficiently . About the Role You will be responsible for ensuring that fleet is serviced and maintained and that all additions and deletions are prepared and returned in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Everything you do will be with the Companys values front of mind.
Key Responsibilities: People - Lead and manage the service team to ensure an effective and efficient operation. Coach, mentor and develop staff including providing career development opportunities and new employee on boarding and training. Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, reward, and disciplinary action where necessary with the assistance of HR.
Ultimately create a workplace culture consistent with ABG values. HSE - Ensure workshop is clean and free from potential hazards, and compliant with OH&S regulations and Company policies. Conducting work in a safe manner, complying with Occupational Safety, Health & Environmental policies, procedures and being familiar with emergency evacuation procedures to eliminate or minimise workplace health and safety risks.
This includes the reporting of all accidents, near accidents and hazards. Fleet - Ensure that preventative maintenance is completed, and current fleet meets Quality Assurance Standards. Assign panel repairers for quality repairs and minimise downtime.
Arrange competitive quotes for panel damage & allocate repairs. Complete write off matrixes. Monitor & authorise major mechanical and panel repairs as well as management of Service centre costs.
Minimise turnaround & downtime by liaising with repairers. Maintain spare parts, tyres & lubricant stocks to minimise service times. Manage parts inventory within the service centre and provide breakdown assistance and responses as required.
Ensure servicing of vehicles is carried out as per manufactures specifications and at the appropriate mileage intervals. Liaise with locations on preventive maintenance, servicing, and general support. Manage the additions and deletion processes as per the Fleet Plan, in conjunction with the State/Island Fleet & Remarketing Manager.
Work with suppliers to maintain and control costs Arrange transportation of signed-off turnback vehicles (where applicable). Attend company/manufacturer training as necessary What were looking for Trade qualification in Motor Mechanics with previous experience working as a Motor Mechanic (at least two years) Previous experience managing and leading a team Previous computer and diagnostic skill set experience The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously across multiple sites Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching and co.
