About the role We are seeking a dedicated and organised Business Events Officer to join our Marketing Team. You will be at the forefront of promoting Manawat as a prime destination for conferences and business events. You will play a pivotal role in showcasing the region's unique strengths, collaborating with local venues, and attracting national and international business events to elevate the profile of Manawat.
This role offers a great opportunity to make a significant impact on the regions reputation and economic growth. This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. (There may be occasional work outside of standard hours when attending conferences, trade show or other key events).
Your focus in this role will include: Actively marketing Manawat as a leading destination for business events. Executing strategies to attract conferences and events that align with regional growth sectors. Building strong relationships with local venues Creating and submitting compelling bids for conferences and events.
About you We are looking for a proactive and passionate individual with a background in marketing or sales, who can connect with a diverse range of stakeholders and drive the growth of business events in our region. To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience: A bachelors degree, preferably with a focus on marketing or sales. An understanding of the business event and conference industry.
Exceptional relationship-building and networking skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an eye for detail. Competency or willingness to upskill in tkanga Mori and te reo Mori.
