Responsibilities About the role: As a Downer Carpenter your primary role will be carrying out general carpentry, concrete, bridge and structures maintenance activities on a day-to-day basis. You will optimise the use of company resources and contribute to the successful completion of our contracts. Essentially you will pour, spread, smooth and finish concrete for structures such as ramps and footpaths etc.
Other responsibilities include; To undertake site construction activities including specialist environmental control devices and carry out all activities the supervisor asks along with other field personnel to successfully complete projects as per contracts, safely, on schedule and within budget. Studying drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures Pouring, spreading and levelling concrete using screeds and templates Erecting framework and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards and verifying trueness of structures Cutting lines in concrete using power cutters Assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install May construct concrete formwork as required Conduct and complete maintenance and repairs as About you: You will be a team player with an organised and systematic approach to the working environment with some experience in the civil contracting industry. You will also have: NZQF Level 4 qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) or 2 years of relevant experience Experience in specialized carpentry work in specialist environmental control Experience with concrete form work (desirable) Full Drivers licence A Zero harm focus The ability to work well within a team and independently Good communication skills What's on offer?
