About the Position | Te Mahi Support work is fun, people-facing, challenging, and very rewarding, and it is also a deeply empathetic journey. Responsibilities may Include: Assisting with personal cares (showering, bathing) Assisting with household management and meal preparation Supporting exercise programmes Assisting with accessing the community Bowel, Bladder, and Catheter cares Moving and handling hoists and manual transfers Medication support Job Location : Oamaru Employment Type: Casual (Cover Shifts) Days of Work: As this is community-based work, rotating rosters would be involved including am, pm and weekend work.

The duration of these hours may vary, ranging from shorter to longer periods, depending on the specific needs of the people we support. There are many responsibilities associated with being a support worker which can be challenging and fulfilling. It is rewarding when you are part of the support that enables a person to live their best lives in the community. The candidate would have (Candidate Pre-Requisites): Ideally prior personal care experience is preferred Familiarity with complex medical conditions, like spinal injuries, traumatic brain injury A Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification is beneficial and those looking to enter the healthcare sector will also be considered (comprehensive training can be provided) Access to a car and ability to drive independently (a full New Zealand Driver's License is a must) Flexibility to work on a rotating roster Legal right to work in New Zealand is a must.

Benefits | Ki te huanga Pay Band: $24.13 - $30.03 per hour (This is based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017 hourly pay rates based on equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications assessed under Pay Equity).
