We provide health and wellbeing services working with local community supports to help taiohi aged 12-24 develop life skills and build strong connections, including their school, employer, whnau, and friends. The Role | M tnei tranga mahi The role of a casual youth worker involves working alongside the taiohi to meet their day to day needs and supporting them on their journey to reach their full potential in ways which recognise and celebrate the mana of the young person.

You will: Support young people between the ages of 12-18 in a residential respite setting with a core focus on supporting their mental health through a trauma informed lens Be busy supporting young people with independent daily living skills, help them plan and work towards individual goals and support them with activities or outings Have good people skills and able to work independently and within a wider team. Might attend appointments and advocate for our taiohi Be prepared to do whatever it takes for the people we support - cooking, cleaning, gardening, and helping with everyday tasks. As a casual youth worker you will be covering a range of shifts as needed when permanent staff are not able to work.

The Benefits | Ng huatanga kei a mtou Variety of discounts with our Employee Discount App Earn up to $29.83 per hour If you work the awake night shift youll receive a complimentary meal Work for an organisation that believes in its purpose EAP services About You | Mu In this role you will need: Hold a National Certificate in Mental Health and Addiction Support Work (level 4), National Certificate in Youth Work, Level 4 certificate in Health and Wellbeing, a health qualification or above tertiary qualification Experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care Be experienced or comfortable with group facilitation Passionate about supporting young people to build confidence, and resilience Both de-escalation skills and relationship building skills A current full New Zealand drivers licence A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi Closing Date | R Katinga: 08 June 2025.
