About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for a Computational Modelling Physicist to join our Chemistry and Physics Research Group.

In this role, you will support research in bioenergy, bio-based manufacturing, and sustainable process development through process simulation, thermodynamic modelling, and computational physics. In this matrixed role, you will contribute to multi-physics simulations, process modelling, and energy system optimisation across multiple research portfolios. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will apply your expertise in thermodynamics, mathematical modelling, and computational simulations to tackle real-world challenges in bioenergy, circular manufacturing, and sustainable industrial processes .

This position is ideal for a candidate with a strong physics background who is eager to leverage computational tools to drive innovation in renewable energy and bio-based systems. Key Responsibilities Develop and refine computational models for bioenergy and bio-based processes. Apply physics-based simulations (thermodynamics, heat/mass transfer, fluid dynamics) using MATLAB, COMSOL Multiphysics, Aspen Plus, or Python.

Support process modelling and techno-economic analysis to optimise bio-based and energy systems. Contribute to internal reports, research publications, and technical documentation. Engage in multi-disciplinary discussions, supporting the integration of computational physics across research areas.

What You Will Bring PhD in Physics or Engineering, or a Master's degree with minimal experience outside of academia. Strong expertise in thermodynamics, energy physics, and mathematical modelling. Experience with computational modelling tools (e.

g., MATLAB, COMSOL, Aspen Plus, Python). Understanding of heat and mass transfer, fluid dynamics, and process modelling for bio-based systems.
