__________ DUNEDIN SCHOOL OF MEDICINE/TE KURA WHAIORA O OTEPOTI, TE TARI MANUTAKI We are seeking a Senior Professional Practice Fellow to fulfil the role of Convenor for the Clinical Skills vertical module as part of the Advanced Learning in Medicine (ALM) years 4 6, MB ChB programme. The role will be based in the Deans Office and will involve collaboration with Dunedin School of Medicine Departments that contribute to the ALM Programme. Clinical Skills refers to practical skills such as clinical examination techniques, communication skills and clinical reasoning and venepuncture and IV cannulation.
The role/Te mahi In this role, you will provide leadership of the Clinical Skills Module including convening the module, facilitating and supporting curriculum development, delivery, and assessment. Key tasks include: Ongoing review of the teaching programme for the module in Dunedin, in collaboration with Medical Education Unit staff. Liaising with convenors of Clinical Skills modules in Christchurch and Wellington Schools in order to support shared curriculum objectives.
Participating as required in the delivery of the module for ALM students in Dunedin. Creating engaging and inclusive learning environments across theoretical, case-based, and clinical settings. Actively supporting the overarching goals of the Otago Medical School curriculum, fostering collaboration with the Medical Education Unit and module convenors.
