About the role: Reporting to the Financial Controller and a key member of the National Accounts Team, the Credit Controller is responsible for managing the national debtors process, collections, and assisting with billing maintenance for the firm. Key responsibilities include: Monitor and manage the AR ledger, ensuring timely collection processes Developing key relationships within client organisations Working with relevant internal staff to facilitate collections Managing the AR inbox and debtor refund account Managing the dispatch of monthly client statements Preparing regular reports on aged debt and collection activities Writing off bad debts Proactively analysing trends to respond to potential payment issues Skills, abilities and experience required: Experience in debt collection procedures and a solid accounting background Ideally exposure to Aderant or other legal accounting software Accounting and reconciliation experience Technically savvy with strong skills in MS Office Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Professionalism, discretion and confidentiality Time-management, prioritisation and the ability to work autonomously Attention to detail and process-orientation Customer-service oriented with high composure and influencing skills Working for Chapman Tripp: Inclusive, welcoming culture and supportive leadership Ongoing learning and development Competitive salary and benefits package including healthcare & annual wellbeing allowance Groups and activities to suit your interests: sports, arts & culture, regular team and firm events for connection We are a collaborative workplace of smart, passionate and hardworking people, united by a commitment to excellence.
