My client is a heavy vehicle repair and maintenance facility that provides services to companies nationwide. As a well-established business, they are able to cater to the needs of their customers, providing repair, maintenance, and 24-hour on-call specialist staff to handle repairs from minor electrical through to major engine rebuilds and accident damage. Committed to providing excellent customer service, they are expanding and looking to add a Diesel Mechanic to their team.
About the role: Carry out maintenance, servicing, major repairs, and diagnostics of diesel trucks and trailers Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure safety and reliability on all projects Ensure a safe workplace and promote a Health & Safety culture. Collaborate with a team of skilled mechanics and technicians to achieve excellent results. Complete relevant paperwork.
Work autonomously on an after-hours call-out duty roster across Auckland About you: You are a qualified Diesel Mechanic with at least 5 years experience. You have strong mechanical capabilities and technical skills for servicing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles and trailers. Experience with transmissions, differentials and engine work along with excellent diagnostic skills You will be required to take trucks for COF's so, you will need a minimum of a class 4 license (with the ability and willingness to obtain your class 5) Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are essential.
You have a good understanding of the English language, both written and verbal. You enjoy building and maintaining strong relationships with customers at all levels You take pride in your workmanship - getting it right the first time You are enthusiastic, positive and highly motivated Benefits: The hours of work are a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am-5:00pm - with rostered half days on Saturday 8:00am - 12noon. There is an attractive hourly wage on offer based on experience with OT paid at a flat rate.
There is an after-hours call-out roster, and additional rates will be paid for working on this rotation. All PPE including boots and a full work uniform is provided.
