The National Youth and Justice Coalition brings together organisations and individuals committed to reimagining Aotearoas justice systemone that truly honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi, uplifts lived experience, and centres community-led solutions. We are seeking a Director to steward and coordinate this powerful collective.
Youll work alongside movement builders, policy advocates, grassroots leaders and advocates to embed collaborative systems, growing relationships, support campaigns, and help shift the national narrative on justiceparticularly for mokopuna, whnau and communities most impacted. Youll be working on behalf of the Coalition through a contract with Amnesty International, with flexible working arrangements. Were looking for someone who has: A strong understanding and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Tiriti justice.
4 years of experience in a relevant field (e.g., campaigning, research, strategic engagement).
Ideally experience with coalitions and in collaboration The ability to take initiative and work autonomously without daily supervision ABOUT THE COALITION We are a powerful alliance of organizations and individuals united by a bold vision: to fundamentally transform Aotearoa's justice system across adult, youth, and children's sectors. We center equity, amplify lived experience, honor Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and challenge narratives that perpetuate harm. Our strength lies in our diversity and collective impacttogether, we're creating pathways toward a justice system that upholds the mana of all people and addresses the root causes of harm through holistic, restorative approaches.
YOUR OPPORTUNITY As Director, you'll be the connective force that amplifies our collective power. You'll: Shape and drive campaigns that challenge the status quo and advocate for meaningful systemic reform Harness the unique strengths of coalition members to create unprecedented collective impact Strengthen relationships across sectors and communities to grow our influence and effectiveness Help establish the structures and systems that will sustain our work for generations to come This role offers creativity, strategic leadership, and the chance to work alongside passionate change-makers who are redefining justice in Aotearoa. This is a 40-hour per week contractor position preferably based in Wellington, but flexible for the right person.
Initially offering a one-year fixed term contract, between $100,000-$120,000 pa. We are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment. We encourage applications from candidates who bring diverse perspectives and experiences that will strengthen our coalition.
