About the Role | M te tranga: We currently have a part time opening within our Disability Team. We are seeking someone with exceptional interpersonal skills, determined to simplify the disability support process to empower people to lead fulfilling lives. The people we assist self-manage their disability funding and employment of personnel.
Candidates with first-hand experience of disability, either as individuals or as family members, are encouraged to apply. Additionally, proficiency in navigating government-funded supports and advocating for others would be advantageous. As the landscape of disability services in New Zealand evolves, a strong focus on education and advocacy is integral to this role.
The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility in their working hours, encompassing a blend of office-based duties and remote work. Engaging with clients will involve a combination of phone calls and face-to-face interactions, necessitating a high degree of autonomy with assistance from your Disability Team colleagues. Key Responsibilities: Manage a caseload of clients with disabilities and their families.
Assist clients in devising plans and making decisions for optimal utilisation of their disability support funding. Facilitate budget management for individualised funding. Provide guidance on eligible claims based on Whaikahas purchasing rules Conduct regular plan reviews with clients and establish new outcomes to be achieved.
Skills & Experience | Pukenga & wheako: Passion for championing individuals with diverse disabilities and their families. Proficiency in active listening and effective communication, both verbal and written. Competence in Microsoft Office suite.
Strong team player with a collegial mindset to meet client needs. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand and possess a valid NZ driver's license. Please ensure eligibility before applying.
