We are currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced Drill Operator/Locator to join our high performing Christchurch Team. As a Drill Operator/Locator you will require a broad range of skills and abilities ensure work is carried out to industry and company standards. As a Drill Operator/Locator, you will be responsible for the following: Operate the directional drill or other equipment to complete build works as detailed by the drawings and to our clients standards.
Ensure all prestart documentation, permits, quality assurance, and compliance documentation is completed. Including supporting others to complete their required documentation. Perform and deliver work activity as per agreed designs and project specifications.
Locate services and interpret utility plans. Monitor drilling progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance and alignment with project objectives. Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance on directional drilling machinery.
Collaborate effectively with the team to efficiently and safely achieve project goals. Flexible and willing to undertake a range of tasks including manual handling, shovelling, reinstatement, lifting. Provides excellent client service and expertise to ensure a positive experience for clients.
Carry out and performing all duties in accordance with industry and company standards, policies and procedures. Undertake other tasks to support the overall Civtec business as required. This role requires a balance of working independently and collaborating with a dynamic team to get the job done right.
Weekend availability essential and willingness to complete night work. To be successful in this role you will have: Minimum 2-3 years Directional Drilling operation and locating Competency in machine operation for applicable plant items. Proven experience labouring within civil teams.
New Zealand Class 1 Full Drivers Licence Wheels, Tracks and Rollers endorsement Class 2 are preferred but not essential. Traffic Management. Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual tasks Strong logic, planning and problem-solving ability.
Strong work ethic, maintaining personal accountability for output. Respect for others and highly reliable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
