Job Description Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Are you a driven fitness professional ready to lead, engage, and innovate? Join the Sport and Recreation team at our brand-new, state-of-the-art Hiwa Recreation Centre and support the delivery of exceptional fitness services that inspire and empower our diverse university community. As Fitness Supervisor, youll play a key role in activating and enhancing fitness services. Your focus will be on creating an energising environment where members feel supported, engaged, and motivated - whether its through personalised interactions, exercise prescription, or fresh new initiatives and workshops.

In this role, you will: Oversee the delivery and evolution of fitness services that engage and retain members Build strong connections with members through active engagement on the gym floor Lead the design and rollout of new fitness workshops, events, and activation initiatives Support the fitness team, including rostering, development, and performance Champion a high-quality, safe, and inclusive member experience Track service performance and operational outcomes to drive continuous improvement This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent position. Remuneration is $55,300- $69,600, depending on skills and experience.

The Sport and Recreation team works to create opportunities for students and staff to stay active, build connections, and balance their well-being with academic and professional pursuits. He krero mu | About you To be successful in this role, you will be proactive and forward-thinking, anticipating needs and taking initiative.

You will bring: A recognised fitness qualification and current First Aid certification At least two years experience in a recreation or fitness facility. Experience with rostering and supporting a fitness team. Strong communication skills to engage with members and external stakeholders.

Confidence in maintaining health and safety standards.
