Position Description Teacher Our Mission: To inspire, challenge and empower our young people within a community that knows and cares about them. Position: Teacher Responsible to: Head(s) of Faculty(ies) Key Tasks To provide learning opportunities that equip students to be curious, confident, resilient, collaborative, innovative and empathetic.
To teach required subject(s) Years 7-13 (classes to be confirmed every year). To use effective teaching and learning strategies that focus on knowing and engaging learners. To contribute to the development and sharing of quality teaching and learning strategies and responsive programmes of learning.
To facilitate learning in an inclusive and positive environment that differentiates and responds to the needs, identities, cultures, and passions of all learners. Demonstrate a commitment to tangata whenuatanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnership in the learning environment. To be responsible for the progression in learning and assessment of and for learning.
To attend relevant meetings and engage in professional learning opportunities. To participate positively with the Rangi Ruru Professional Growth Cycle withing our Professional Learning Community. To model and uphold the Professional Teaching Standards and Code of Conduct.
If appropriate, to engage positively in the Induction and Mentoring programme for Provisionally Registered Teachers. To effectively report on student achievement and progress to whnau/parents/caregivers. To provide opportunities for learning that develop the Rangi Ruru Graduate Dispositions in our learners.
To contribute to the pastoral care and mentoring of students by being a Form Tutor. To contribute to the co-curricular life of the school. Person Specification Be energetic and enthusiastic.
Be able to relate easily with students and colleagues and develop strong learning relationships. Have the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a strong team. Be solution focused.
Have knowledge of current educational thinking and developments. Have a thorough understanding of the NZ Curriculum, NCEA and Scholarship. A competent user of ICT tools and strategies to enhance learning.
