Based in Marton, this role will lead and ensure effective implementation of the Food Safety Management System to maintain and improve compliance with Nestl and regulatory standards related to food safety. Track, report, investigate and respond to consumer complaints, identify and initiate improvement work to reduce complaints. Develop and conduct quality awareness training for production staff and maintain quality competence matrix.
A day in the life Reporting to the Factory Compliance Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Drive the verification of the Food Safety Management System to ensure compliance to FSSC 22000 requirements. Ensure effective implementation of programs related to the FSMS; including, but not limited to, CCP and OPRP validation and verification. - Lead the HACCP coordination ensuring that HACCP plans are correctly set-up and regularly reviewed.
Ensure alignment between the HACCP studies and the QMS, & SAP inspection plan. Co-ordinate annual food safety team reviews. - Ensure all food safety requirements are considered for new and existing vendors through the Vendor Management programme.
- Participates in the factory's internal and supplier audit programme. - Support the New Product Development (NPD) process through the risk assessment of new raw materials and processes (including SAP workflow and NPDI) and ensuring completion of the pHACCP. - Ensure the performance of structured root cause analysis after incidents related to food safety failures have occurred.
- Own and deliver HACCP, OPRP and CCP training and competency assessments, and other training related to the FSMS, as required. - Actively participate in Nestl Continuous Excellence (NCE) & TPM pillars and activities, delivering to the requirements outlined in the methodology. - Ensure appropriate development, training and motivation to ensure necessary knowledge to perform job function.
What will make you successful - Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong team player with a drive to deliver quality outcomes. - Tertiary qualification in Food Science or related field of study. - Minimum 1 years' experience a quality specialist, preferably with SAP experience.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and problem-solving tools will be an advantage. - Excellent communication and presentation skills and a proven capacity to influence and negotiate to drive high standards of performance and quality. Applicants will be required.
