Generation Technician - Invercargill Are you an experienced Generation Technician with an electrical or mechanical skillset? Join a leading renewable energy company driving innovation across wind and hydro assets. Pioneer Energy Renewables is seeking a mechanically skilled Generation Technician to join our Invercargill-based team. While mechanical expertise is our primary focus, candidates with electrical experience or a limited electrical license, particularly with fault-finding and control systems knowledge, will be highly valued.

Youll work hands-on maintaining and optimising hydro schemes, wind farms, and boiler systems across Southland and Otago. Whether youre experienced in mechanical plant, power generation systems, or control systems, were looking for someone with a proactive, problem-solving approach and a passion for continuous improvement. The Job Our company has a strong team of electrial and other trade specialists that currently provide knowledge and support to maintain the operation of Pioneer Energy Renewables' existing assets and many successful project outcomes.

In this role, youll be involved in the maintenance, operation, and optimisation of mechanical generation assets - including hydro and wind systems. Youll also support boiler systems and thermal generation assets. This is a great opportunity to grow your expertise within renewable energy while working with a skilled team of trade professionals.

To view a copy of the job description please click here . This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, usually worked Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm. You will have the opportunity to: Work with a company that is long on history but is focused on the future with an Asset Management culture (ISO 55000) Utilise your expertise in electrical or mechanical maintenance and construction, specialising in the wind generation.

Operate plant on site and remotely Analyse problems and identify innovative solutions Explore a range of projects As there is a wide-ranging requirement to understand different systems, this does mean that there will be many opportunities to extend your knowledge and skills base. This includes training and development to grow within the company, including internationally recognised qualifications such as GWO (Global Wind Organisation) standards. About you We are interested in hearing from you if you have experience in the above-mentioned electrical or mechanical areas and you are: Hold an NZQA mechanical trade qualification (or equivalent) Electrical experience or a limited electrical license is highly valued, especially with fault-finding and control system skills Experienced in installing and maintaining equipment in an industrial situation Have preferably some high voltage and wind or hydro power experience Able to read and interpret schematic drawings and manuals Self-motivated and able to work alone in an isolated situation or as a team member Willing to participate in an On Call roster with 24/7 site r.
