Introduction Introduction: Timberlands is a leading Forest Management Company with particular expertise in forest management and operations on a significant scale. Based in Rotorua, Timberlands manage 190,000ha of pine plantations in the Central North Island on behalf of Kaingaroa Timberlands and other clients. Description Purpose of the Role: Timberlands is looking for a Harvest Manager, based at our offices in Rotorua, to plan and manage harvesting operations, with a focus on managing our roadline crews.

The role will ensure that a strong health & safety culture is maintained and has a focus on demonstrating frontline leadership. Key accountabilities include: Manage harvesting contractor performance against their contracts and harvest prescriptions. Review roadline capacity regularly to ensure harvest schedule implementation and smooth seasonal workloads Management of contractors to ensure all contract obligations are met, including monitoring and ensuring compliance with company Health, Safety & Environmental policies Plan harvest operations to maximise stumpage, forest value and DIFOT.

Manage timely and accurate hand overs to Roading Team. Our ideal candidate will have: A Tertiary qualification in forestry or practical experience in production forestry Strong Leadership skills Analytical ability including excellent computer and data analysis skills Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) Background in logging and harvest planning Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team People make our business at Timberlands, as such we seek to offer an employment package that retains and rewards excellent people.
