As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a critical role in the team responsible for administering and managing all development, UAT, and pre-production environments, as well as internal corporate IT systems. Your primary focus will be to deliver high-quality and timely IT infrastructure support, ensuring the availability, stability, and performance of FNZ platforms and corporate systems. This technical role emphasizes the provision of top-notch support to maintain the optimal functioning of both FNZ platforms and corporate IT systems.
The responsibilities will include: Management of infrastructure daily activities; implement change, and support incident and problem troubleshooting. Project Work: Implement new projects to meet project timelines and deadlines. Recommend changes to the IT manager that could reduce costs in your areas of responsibility.
Ensure that performance SLA's are met every month for systems that you are responsible for by managing and resolving issues logs; performing scheduled maintenance to minimise disruption; managing third party support contracts where required to provide support levels. Ensure that performance SLA's are met every month for systems that you are responsible for by monitoring system performance, capacity and growth; suggesting and implementing performance improvements and hardware/software refreshes. Ensure that the FNZ network and systems are internally and externally secure by following existing policies and procedures and documenting for audit purposes as required by AAF/ISO27001; implementing security projects; completing risk assessments and build guides for new and existing systems.
Ensure that FNZ-held data is secure and backed up. Develop professional and technical knowledge and skills. Provide technical advice and mentoring within the team.
Provide advice and support to the junior engineers and work with other team members. What are we ideally looking for in a successful candidate? Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience. Minimum 5 years in operations Experience or aptitude to learn on-perm and cloud technologies VMWare/ESXi & Deploying windows VMs using templates.
Windows Admin experience i.e., patching, integration with AD and O365, backups with Comvault Ability to use Ansible and Powershell Base network understanding for troubleshooting connectivity issues Experience and knowledge of Splunk, Nagios or other monitoring tools.
Ability to write Azure/AWS Infrastructure as Code, Terraform regarded. Experience with Data Center racking, cabling and connectivity Load Balancer / F5 experience (LTM/APM/ASM/GTM) is highly regarded. Successfully implemented Infrastructure projects Keen interest in and knowledge of latest server and storage technologies Good team player with the ability to work independently and able to take initiative.
