Job Description A Kaitiaki at Summerset is much more than just an aged care worker. A Kaitiaki is a trustee, minder, custodian, steward and guardian. So, if you're kind, people-centric, empathetic, and ready to put a smile on our residents' faces, we want to hear from you.
What is the role? As a Kaitiaki at our St Johns Village, you're there to help provide the safest, healthiest, and most enjoyable lifestyle possible for our residents. This role is really special, because it gives you the chance to make a difference to our residents' quality life, without being a caregiver or providing personal care like bathing and changing. Day-to-day, your activities will include assisting with recreational and group exercises, helping the physiotherapists and assisting with eating and drinking at mealtimes.
You will be there during busy periods when other staff may be providing care to specific residents - think conversations, manicures, walks, laughs and improving independence and autonomy through exercises. You will work on a 4 on 2 off roster with a minimum of 25 hours per week. You will work a mixture of morning shifts 9:30am - 2:30pm and afternoon shifts 2:00pm - 7:00pm..
