Job Description Kaitiaki at Summerset A Kaitiaki at Summerset is much more than just an aged care worker. A Kaitiaki is a trustee, minder, custodian, steward and guardian. So, if you're kind, people-centric, empathetic, and ready to put a smile on our residents' faces, we want to hear from you.
What is the role? As a Kaitiaki, you're there to help provide the safest, healthiest, and most enjoyable lifestyle possible for our residents. This role is really special, because it gives you the chance to make a difference to our residents' quality life, without being a caregiver or providing personal care like bathing and changing. Day-to-day, your activities will include assisting with recreational and group exercises, helping the physiotherapists and assisting with eating and drinking at mealtimes.
You will be there during busy periods when other staff may be providing care to specific residents - think conversations, manicures, walks, laughs and improving independence and autonomy through exercises. We know that this role makes a difference - our residents love having someone there whose sole job is to spend time with them and put a smile on their face. There are 2 Kaitiaki Permanant part-time positions available.
One position will work 4 days on 2 days off, Afternoons. The other will work 4 days on, 2 days off Mornings and Afternoons. Please click here to view the full job description.
