The title Kaiwhirimuka means the muka provides sustenance to the Harakeke plant to allow it to flourish. We're on the hunt for a Kaiwhirimuka a vibrant, switched-on, ngkau taiohi leader who can bring the taiohi (youth) of Aotearoa together in a way thats unapologetically Mori, unapologetically Real, and full of mauri. This is more than a job its a karanga, a call to step into a national stage where you can amplify the voice, energy, and brilliance of our rangatahi.

This role is 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday with some travel as relevant across Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Ko wai koe? You are someone who: Is young at heart (ngkau taiohi) and thrives in youth spaces. Can vibe with taiohi one moment and stand confident in ng taumata tiketike (high-level leadership spaces) the next. Has the pkenga to bring kaupapa to life, online, in the whare, on the marae, and in the streets.

Knows how to move between being heart-led (arotahi ki te ngkau) and strategically sharp (whakaaro rangatira). Understands the political climate, especially the issues impacting tangata whenua, and isn't afraid to stand for what matters. Is agile, adaptive and can roll with te ao hurihuri (our ever-changing world).

He aha ng kawenga? As our Kaiwhirimuka, you'll: Provide guidance and leadership within Real to help ensure our work and our culture aligns with the goals of increased engagement with Mori and whnau Weave (whiriwhiria) a national taiohi vibe that uplifts, connects and activates. Be the go-to tngata hono creating relationships between taiohi, organisations, and decision-makers. Hold space for taiohi voices and ensure theyre heard where it counts.

Represent our kaupapa -kanohi, online, with groups and stakeholders and, in policy spaces and everywhere taiohi are. Contribute to high-level systems change with grassroots impact..
