About the role | M te tranga: Our Biochemistry Department is currently searching for a dedicated, enthusiastic and competent Laboratory Technician.
This is a permanent, part-time position of 50 hours per fortnight. The Biochemistry section at Awanui Veterinary Dunedin performs a wide range of testing including automated biochemistry, trace element analysis, and haematology. We are looking for someone to facilitate effective and efficient performance in the department by working collaboratively with the team.
Key Responsibilities: Receipting in, preparation, and testing of various samples according to standard protocols. Ensure timely turnaround of results while upholding quality and technical standards. Contribute to quality control, operational improvements, and efficiency initiatives within the Biochemistry team.
About you | He krero mu To be successful in this role you need to have: The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines. A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment. Sound knowledge of laboratory operations including, safety, quality assurance processes, operation of equipment and hands-on practical experience.
Available to work rostered Saturday mornings. Please note weekend work attracts penal rates. Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
