Make Reading Resources Work for Every School in Aotearoa E ng mana, e ng reo, e ng karangatanga maha o ng hau e wh, nau mai, haere mai. Greetings to the many authorities, voices, and experts of the world. Supporting teachers, learners and school libraries with access to quality reading and inquiry learning resources is what this role is all about.

As a Librarian in the Lending and Resources team, youll help schools across the country connect with curated, age-appropriate content that reflects and supports the curriculum, literacy goals and reading engagement. You'll also be responsible for selecting and developing resources that directly support teaching and learning in schools, ensuring they are relevant, diverse and aligned with Aotearoas education priorities. Based in Christchurch, youll work closely with colleagues to deliver and continuously improve reading services, build knowledge of childrens literature, and provide practical advice to schools.

Youll also contribute to online services like AnyQuestions and support national programmes that help strengthen library capability in schools. What were looking for Were keen to hear from someone who: Has experience delivering reference or reading services, ideally in an education or school library setting Understands the role school libraries play in supporting literacy, reading engagement and learning outcomes Has knowledge and enthusiasm for childrens and young adult literature, in all formats Enjoys working collaboratively across teams, and is confident supporting both in-person and online delivery Brings energy, initiative and a strong customer focus to their work Is comfortable using or learning about digital and e-learning tools Is committed to working in a way that honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is confident or willing to learn te reo Mori and tikanga You may come from a library background, an education setting, or simply be someone with strong information management skills and a passion for reading.
