Krero m te tranga - About the role Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Library Assistant to join the Resource and Acquisitions team. Our team is fast-paced, likes sharing ideas and working collaboratively. We offer you professional development opportunities, including Te reo Mori and other university-run workshops and programmes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with an interest in a career in libraries and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. This is a permanent, part-time position. The role will be responsible for purchasing and processing of the Librarys collections in all formats and undertaking a range of operational activities which support the access and discoverability of the librarys electronic and physical resources.

Key responsibilities: Place orders for the Librarys collection, including processing of payments via Pcard or other methods as directed. Process acquired resources for the Librarys collection, including receiving, call-marking, and copy-cataloguing. Make electronic resources available using the library management system and discovery services.

Provide user support for accessing the Librarys resources. This includes identifying problems with newly acquired physical items, access to electronic resources, updating metadata records, and referring issues to technical specialists as appropriate. pmanawa About you This role is busy, challenging, extremely rewarding and interesting for the individual who wants to further your career in the Library or Information profession.
