We are headquartered in Boston with over 30 offices across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia Pacific. The Gordon Brothers New Zealand Team is growing, and we are creating this new role for a Machinery & Equipment valuer to work within a small team to undertake valuations of business assets. including machinery & equipment and inventory for the purposes of lending, accounting, M&A and insolvency scenarios.
This role may be suitable for either a recently accredited valuer who is looking to step up to the next level, or a more experienced valuer who is looking to broaden their experience and develop new career pathways. Key Responsibilities: Provide full analytical support for on-going and new valuations, which includes due diligence, analysis, and data collection. Analyse financial information including asset registers and depreciation schedules.
Valuation research to provide value-added insight into comparable companies and transactions, industry trends and market conditions. Write and prepare commercially focused and insightful valuation reports. Liaise with our clients regarding business performance, inventory profile, asset conditions, asset depreciation modelling and marketability amongst other key valuation drivers.
Take ownership for delivery of projects within each team. You will be responsible for preparation of valuation reports, working alongside our analyst team and investment and remarketing professionals. Conduct solo field inspections and/or client meetings as needed.
Think critically, identify issues and propose strategies related to the advice being provided. Maintain positive, productive, and professional relationships with client personnel and colleagues. Maintain and expand professional business relationships with existing clients and new client prospects.
Ideally Auckland based but may consider candidates from further afield. Education & Experience: 3 years of related work experience in Machinery & Equipment. A degree in finance, accounting, economics or business (preferred), PMVI, ASA or similar accreditation would be looked upon favourably.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of NZ insolvency laws and processes (not necessary but good to possess). Experience using Salesforce beneficial. Experience utilising various valuation techniques and methodologies (market comparable, discounted cash flow, etc.
) and for different purposes (e.g. lending, insolvency, acquisition accounting / PPA).
Experience in excel.
