We are recruiting a Machining Apprentice for our host company located in Rotorua. If successful you will be employed by ATNZ and assigned to this host company where you will receive valuable on-the-job training while studying to become a fully qualified engineer.
What does a Machining Apprentice do? Machinists manufacture precision componentry from engineering materials using various machining and hand processes. Machinists use tools like lathes, milling machines, and machining centres to create metal parts. These are usually made in large volumes, although precision machinists make small quantities of unique or special parts.
Machinists must be highly skilled in making products with strict specifications, which requires excellent knowledge and understanding of the materials properties.
