About the Role As a manager for Nutrition & Food Services, you will be responsible for the management and coordination of our hospitals patient meal service during the day time, including the menu processing, tray line and ward staff who serve and deliver meals and beverages to the patient bedside. Day-to-day you will be part of a supportive management team and be responsible for rostering, recruitment, payroll, performance management, coordinating staff training while also ensuring compliance with food safety standards for your direct team.

You will be the key collaborative link between the inpatient wards and the Nutrition and Food Service helping to ensure smooth communication, timely service and responsiveness to patient needs. This is an exciting opportunity for you to lead and motivate a diverse team in our busy and dynamic hospital food service environment. Each day, you will be part of a team that plays a key role in ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality and patient-centred food and beverage services across Waikato Hospital.

About the Service Nutrition & Food Services objective is to provide a safe, quality and efficient food and nutrition service that meets the nutritional requirements of individuals and maintain their overall health and well-being. Each meal time we prepare and serve over 850 patient meals.

We also provide Meals on Wheels for community clients and have -five on-site retail outlets. Our patient meal service includes production, service and distribution of the food to the patient bedside. We have a number of managers that work in collaboration to ensure our patients receive a high quality food service incorporating excellence in customer service.
