About the role | M te tranga: Our Biochemistry Department is currently searching for a dedicated, enthusiastic and competent Medical Laboratory Technician. This is a permanent, full-time position of 80 hours per fortnight. We are looking for someone to facilitate effective and efficient performance in the department by working collaboratively with the team to perform medical laboratory technician duties.
Key Responsibilities: Analyse blood samples following established biochemistry protocols and procedures.\ Report results in line with quality standards and client specifications. Ensure timely turnaround of results while upholding quality and technical standards.
Contribute to quality control, operational improvements, and efficiency initiatives within the biochemistry team. About you | He krero mu The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines. A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Sound knowledge of laboratory operations including, safety, quality assurance processes, operation of equipment and hands-on practical experience. Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand under the scope of Medical Laboratory Technician and a current Annual Practicing Certificate. Available to work rostered and rotating weekends and evenings.
