Description The Church Security Department is seeking an Assistant Security Manager. This is a permanent full-time position reporting to the Area Security Manager. This unique role, based at the Pacific Area Office in Auckland New Zealand, primarily involves overseeing the safety and security requirements in Papua New Guinea and providing administrative support to the Area Security Manager and the Security Department in the Pacific Area.

Responsibilities Ensure safety and security of full-time missionaries, ecclesiastical leaders, employees, Church assets and properties Assess risks and manage security incidents (e.g., criminal incidents, fire, health emergencies, protests) with innovative and creative solutions Adhere to local laws and implement security policies and processes Conduct and oversee investigations and take initial actions as required Respond to Area needs and complete security assignments with minimal supervision Oversee, mentor, train, and evaluate security personnel (6) and manage an operating budget Manage a nationwide security contract with a local PNG provider Travel quarterly to PNG to address local security, administrative and training needs Provide personal protection and security services for General Authorities and other leaders of the Church Provide administrative support and respond to special assignments as and when required by the Pacific Area Office Qualifications Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of experience and qualifications 5 years of security industry experience Functional knowledge of physical security principles, practices, and protocols 3 years of leadership, people management, and team-lead experience Ability to follow directions positively and effectively Proficiency in MS Office suite Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English Professional and friendly demeanour Current drivers license, passport and a clear criminal record Only candidates who have legal work eligibility to hold employment in New Zealand should apply and that this job posting may close at any time without prior notice.
