Description The Purchasing Division within the Pacific Area Materials Management Department is seeking a Procurement Specialist who will be based at Pacific Area Office in Takapuna, Auckland. This is a permanent full-time position reporting to the Area Purchasing Manager. This position helps make gospel teachings, resources, and services accessible to all in a simple and affordable way.
This is a key role that delivers furnishings, fixtures and equipment to new temples, on-site meetinghouses and auxiliary buildings. Working closely with the Special Projects Department the role takes responsibility for delivering the highest quality and timeliness from preferred suppliers, providing hands-on service through purchase-to-pay processes assigning work as needed to other purchasing staff. Responsibilities 90% of the role is responsible for the hands-on purchase-to-pay processes, tracking and delivery of high-profile project items for multiple simultaneous projects, assigning work to team members as needed Maintain strong relationships with SPD project managers, designers, and suppliers including furniture manufacturers, freight forwarders and warehousing Provide accurate and timely reporting on the status of project orders to stakeholders Manage (identification, mitigation, reporting) any risks that could impact deadlines Review the quality of work by manufacturers with contracted designers to ensure expectations are met Qualifications Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience At least 4 years experience with end-to-end procurement Proven ability to maintain strong long-term relationships with influencing and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer service attitude Highly organised and with attention to detail CIPS certification and international logistics experience will be highly regarded Willing to travel internationally as required Only candidates who have legal work eligibility to hold employment in New Zealand should apply and that this job posting may close at any time without prior notice.
