Critical areas of focus for the People Team Lead include: Pastoral Care: Offering personalised 1:1 support and guidance, addressing personal and professional concerns, and ensuring overall well-being, Inductions: Overseeing the onboarding process and ensuring new employees are well-informed about DEFEND's policies and procedures, Leave Management: Managing employee leave requests and ensuring compliance with company policies, Performance Planning/Setting Goals: Supporting employees in setting and reviewing performance goals, fostering a goal-oriented work environment, Performance and Appraisal Reviews: Facilitating performance and appraisal reviews, actively supporting the development and improvement of employees' skills, Career and Development Planning: Collaborating with various stakeholders to create and implement career development plans, identifying opportunities for growth and advancement. To thrive in this role, you will need: Previous experience in leading teams in a complex environment, A comprehensive understanding of the New Zealand Employment Relations environment, Experience in leading or managing performance and behaviours across all levels, Previous coaching and mentoring experience, Proven ability to manage challenging performance and behaviours, Strong leadership and people management skills, Well-developed change management skills.
