Hon. Scott Simpson's office is seeking an intermediate Press Secretary (Level 1) to manage and enhance his media presence. As the sole Press Secretary, you'll play a crucial role in: Crafting compelling speeches, press releases, and media materials that resonate with diverse audiences.
Developing and executing strategic communication plans to effectively convey the Minister's agenda. Building and maintaining strong relationships with media outlets and stakeholders. Proactively identifying and responding to media opportunities and challenges.
Building and contributing to the Ministers social media presence. What you'll gain: Significant Growth: Develop your media expertise and strategic communication skills in a challenging and rewarding environment. Direct Impact: Play a pivotal role in shaping public understanding of key policy areas.
Insider Experience: Work within the heart of New Zealand's political system at Parliament. What we're looking for: Proven experience in media relations and strategic communications. Strong understanding of the New Zealand media landscape and political environment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and persuasive messages. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ability to quickly grasp complex information and anticipate media needs.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders. Experience in developing and executing social media campaigns (highly desirable). Knowledge of the ACC and Commerce & Consumer Affairs portfolios (desirable).
