He tranga tnei e wtea ana ki roto o Kia Puwai Description About the role | M tnei tranga mahi The Principal Practice Advisor supports the whakakitenga/vision, kaupapa/mission, waka hourua/ our direction and tikanga/values of Kia Puwai by lifting, supporting and embedding high quality frontline practice across the organisation.

The Principal Practice Advisor works alongside operational kaimahi to ensure that this is achieved through tamariki and whnau centered systems and practices that are underpinned by current indigenous and western knowledge bases. The Principal Practice Advisors are expert knowledge holders in our evidence-based models of practice and take joint responsibility (through shared portfolio leadership) for continuous improvement by leading the provision of core practice training, consultation and advice on organisational and legislative requirements, complex case formulation, and managing challenging client behaviour. The role reports to the General Manager Quality and Practice.

We strive to deliver equitable outcomes through the designing and delivery of effective and appropriate services for tangata whenua and Pasifika. Our innovative approach combines Western evidence-based models with mtauranga Mori and Pasifika knowledge.

We work in a trauma informed way that acknowledges the impacts of colonisation for tangata whenua and indigenous peoples of Te Moana Nui a Kiwa, including how and why members of these communities may benefit from our services. Our organisational tikanga: aroha, manaakitanga, whanaungatanga and wairuatanga help us to define what best practice is for working with tangata whenua in Aotearoa. Our national office is in Tmaki Makaurau, and we have over 250 staff and caregivers supporting young people and their whnau across Te Taitokerau, greater Tmaki, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay, and the lower areas of Te Ika o Mui and Te Wai Pounamu.
