The Retail Operations and Transformation team support in-store operations, checkouts and SAP across our three retail banners. Monitoring a range of important metrics, the team are also involved in new store openings, ownership changes, and various business initiatives.

Te Tranga About the role Have you had proven experience in a Compliance Manager or equivalent role in the FMCG industry or in one of our supermarkets? Reporting to the Food Safety Manager, this role is responsible for assisting Foodstuffs and all their Members in complying with the various regulations relating to our industry. To do this youll: Play a key role in implementing various regulatory and voluntary initiatives around food safety, sale of liquor, hazardous substances and packaging. Provide coaching support and expertise to our Stores and Support Office from a Regulatory Support perspective.

Collaborate with and support external service providers and Government authorities as it relates Fuel Safety, Food Safety, Sale and Supply of Alcohol & Tobacco, Weights & Measures. Establish credibility as a trusted partner to ensure that strategic Regulatory Compliance business decisions are made and that legal risk is minimised/mitigated. This role requires you to be on the road around four out of five days, visiting our stores and can be based in Auckland, Wellington or Palmerston North.

He krero mu - About you To be successful in the role you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as proven ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders. As a confident presenter with a strong eye for detail youll also be able to develop, implement and maintain standards.

Ideally youll also: Be tertiary educated in one of the food sciences or have responsibility for managing the food safety programme in one of our stores. Have experience in a Food Manufacturing and/or the Retail Food environment and safety systems auditing (verifier) experience. Be experienced in coaching and mentoring others and provide an appropriate level of subject matter.
