Scene of Crime Officer Counties Manukau Based at Manukau or Papakura Band D-G Office of Constable/Police Employee Permanent/Full time JR 5287471 M te tnga | About the role Counties Manukau Police District is looking for motivated individuals with an investigative mindset and a passion for forensics to join our team as a Qualified Scene of the Crime Officer or as a Trainee Scene of the Crime Officer. You will be part of a team focusing on providing forensic evidence that will help identify and hold offenders to account.

The team is committed to supporting our community by preventing further offending and victimisation. As a Scene of the Crime Officer or Trainee Scene of the Crime Officer, you will initially be examining volume crime scenes and exhibits related to burglaries and recovered stolen vehicles. If applying as a Trainee, this is a career pathway where you will be given mentoring and support to enable you to progress through the five-year training program.

You will learn how to search and examine crime scenes to locate, preserve and document forensic evidence like fingerprints, shoe marks, blood, and other biological material. Key Accountabilities: Conduct quality scene examinations for both volume and serious crimes. Preserve and record forensic evidence.

You will have good written skills, complete quality crime scene records, documentation and reporting in a timely manner.

You will approach tasks, challenges and difficult situations in a positive and energetic manner while remaining focussed on maintaining high personal standards.
