Krero m te tranga - About the role Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently looking for a Security Officer to join the Campus Safety and Security team, on a permanent, full-time basis. The role will be responsible for supporting the Universitys core function by having a focus on people and their safety and security.
Key responsibilities: Ensuring the University environment is safe and secure. Provide customer-centric services for all University users. Maintaining a strong security for safety culture.
Responding to and managing security incidents and emergencies. Completing risk assessments, developing, and implementing robust risk mitigation plans. Providing advice, guidance, and direction to the users of the University environments, including students, staff, and visitors.

You will thrive in this role with a professional manner with people, an ability to influence and manage conflict, great communication skills, and strong attention to detail. Key requirements: Outstanding people and communication skills including the ability to adjust to different situations.
Ability to assess risk and develop strategies to reduce risk. Being team player as well as having individual responsibilities. Previous security experience is desirable but not essential.
